Principals’ Music Challenge
South East region regularly hosts a Principals’ Music Challenge for principals or members of the school administration team to join the Instrumental Music program for the term.
Regional music camp—primary school
This 4-day residential camp caters for high performing primary music students who demonstrate excellent ensemble skills within their school choir and/or Instrumental Music programs.
Beginners music week—East
Bayside Instrumental Music students who attend the beginners music week are able to consolidate the knowledge and skills as stipulated in level 1 of the Instrumental Music curriculum.
Intermediate week—Redlands
This exciting event aims to inspire instrumental music students and extend their performance skills beyond level 1 through intensive instruction while performing suitably challenging repertoire.
Secondary workshop—Logan
Secondary band and string students from the Logan area participate in a 2-day workshop designed to build confidence and extend their performance skills.
Beginner workshop—Scenic Rim
Students from the Scenic Rim area participate in a 2-day workshop and experience their first large ensemble experience while applying the early skills and knowledge that have been introduced in the school programs.
Level 2 workshop—Scenic Rim
This exciting event aims to inspire instrumental music students and extend their performance skills into the level 2 curriculum through intensive instruction and suitably challenging repertoire.

This exciting event aims to inspire instrumental music students and extend their performance skills into the level 2 curriculum through intensive instruction and suitably challenging repertoire.
Redlands Eisteddfod
Established in 2000, The Redlands Eisteddfod provides an opportunity for local schools to showcase their school ensembles. The competition runs in early July.
Beenleigh Eisteddfod
Schools from Logan and surrounding areas participate in ensemble performances at the Logan Entertainment Centre in mid July.
Gold Coast Eisteddfod
With performances for bands, strings and choirs scheduled over 3 weeks in August the Gold Coast Eisteddfod showcases school ensembles from the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
