About us
The North Queensland Instrumental Music Committee (NQIM), along with the Instrumental Music Coordinator, provide support, resources, professional development and musical opportunities to schools and Instrumental Music staff throughout the region.
The region participates in Beginner Bootcamps, Advanced Music Workshops, Eisteddfod, Instrumental and Choral Fanfare, State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) and Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP), the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, and an Annual Choral Festival.
Music is for every child continuously throughout their schooling years within the context of Instrumental, Choral and Classroom Music, working in partnership.
The Queensland Instrumental Music curriculum is fully supported through professional development, moderation and collegial engagement. Guest conductors are regularly invited to lead instrumental workshops, conducting clinics, and choral workshops. Curriculum is further supported by an updated regional library that is fully digitalised for the region.
