Contemporary education prioritises the teaching of 21st century skills, which while there are many variations, commonly include critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, collaboration and teamwork, personal and social skills, and ICT skills. Music education has very clear links to all of these skills, and enhances students’ learning across many other disciplines. We do this by involving students in creative decision-making, developing a deep understanding of artistic processes, self-evaluating performances, applying curiosity to a musical mind, and so much more.
