About us
The Darling Downs South West region provides opportunities for students to undertake Instrumental Music (IM) programs in state schools and a number of Catholic schools across the region. The region has approximately 40 Instrumental Music teachers and instructors across primary, secondary and P 9–12 colleges. Instrumental Music is also taught through the Charleville School of Distance Education to students living in isolated and remote areas.
The Darling Downs South West region supports Instrumental Music teachers through the provision of specialised professional development opportunities, providing support in cluster music events and activities, the facilitation of regional music camps, the annual Today’s Youth in Music Education (TYME) Festival, state-wide events within the region such as Fanfare and Choral Fanfare, targeted advice and support for music teachers.
