Singfest is an annual massed choral event for state school primary students from Years 4–6 and secondary students from Years 7–12 in the Metropolitan North and South regions. Over 1,500 students participate in this event each year from state schools across both regions.
Singfest is a 1-day workshop and concert. There are multiple days on offer to choose from.
Individual schools register for Singfest and have their choir(s) learn the Singfest repertoire. Schools choose their date and venue preference when registering and this is confirmed prior to the event.
On the day of the event, each school comes together to workshop the repertoire in a massed choir of all the schools present on the day, culminating in a concert at 4.15pm. This performance is an exciting opportunity for young vocalists. Singfest is beneficial for students in schools with smaller choirs or singing groups.
Parents and caregivers wishing their children to become involved in this activity will need to contact their school music teacher or choir director.
